PETA at it again with anti-mcdonalds ads

"Unhappy Meals" featuring a knife-wielding Ronald McDonald and bloody rubber chickens are upsetting parents who say the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are unfairly targeting their kids at McDonald's restaurants across the country.
PETA's "McCruelty Campaign" has ruffled the feathers of moms and dads in Albany who say they don't want their kids exposed to any throat-slitting chickens or pictures of slaughtered poultry.
"I don't want my son to be around something like this. This is not fair for a child," Stephaine Gipson told FOX23 News in Albany.
"I think it's unhappy that they target children," said parent Michelle Natale.
But the animal rights activists say kids are jaded enough by television and video games to handle the carnographic images, and intend to continue their campaign pressuring McDonald's to use more humane means of killing chickens.
"I think children and adults deserve to be told the truth - and that's that behind Ronald McDonald's smile is cruelty to animals," said PETA spokeswoman Lindsay Rajt.

Rajt said most parents are usually troubled by what PETA calls McDonald's cruel treatment of chickens, and said that kids who "naturally empathize" with animals enjoy PETA's presence outside the Golden Arches.
"Kids are usually very excited to see the free T-shirts and they like our person in the chicken constume," Rajt said, referring either to the furry, friendly chick that visits some chains, or the full-grown fowl with murder in its eyes.
A representative for McDonald's defended the franchise, saying it supports the use of a stunning technique that numbs its chickens before they are slaughtered.
"McDonald's works with leading independent animal welfare experts and makes decisions based upon science to promote continuous improvement in animal welfare as part of our broader sustainable supply chain initiatives," said Bob Langert, McDonald's vice president of corporate social responsibility, in a statement to the blog Slashfood.

These people will do anything to get publicity. Doesn`t PETA know that PETA stands for "People Eating Tasty Animals?"

O.....My.....Gawd

Of all the silly ding dong things to do with your day.  Please send these retards to North Louisiana.  I'm pretty sure my 5 year old nephews kindergarten class would either beat them up or eat them.
Yes, the poor chicken does hang up side down (for about 5 seconds) before they get their throats cut....been there, seen that, was on a crew doing that for a little while & got a T-shirt....
PETA is wrong in that McDonald's doesn't do the killing though...US Poultry producers do it very well for them thank you...2-4 lines running 120 birds a minute on 16 hour days (2 shifts) per plant.  They go from that through a very long process that has the USDA inspecting the carcass what seems like every other second.  All in an effort to give out the highest quality protein a farmer can raise.  (besides Beef).

It baffles me how society has moved from one culture to the next and in so doing left its common sense behind.....These PETA types would freak if they ever saw an old school country type walk out the front door and grab up a yard bird, twist its head off, set it down and go get the scalding pot.......makes me kind of hungry just thinking about it.
It matters not the weapon nor its caliber, rather the caliber of the one who wields it.

We have a very large fishing/biking Pier (used to be a bridge) down here that is growing in disrepair.
Peta offered to pay to fix it up as long as the county bans fishing off it.

THANKFULLY the city had some common sense and declined the assistance.

Man!...they'd have blown there minds when the kids and I would get out the chicken funnel and they'd take turns dropping the chickens in so I could stretch there necks and cut off the heads. They'd bleed out in a bucket.....once in a while our son would get a fiesty one and we'd have a headless chicken running down the drive with our ten year old in hot pursuit....funny these ppls great grandparents would have taken them to the wood shed for doing crap like that[8|]

What these PETA pinheads need is a big dose of reality! Drop them off in the wild, teach them what survival is all about, how the food chain works and how to be a part of the food chain. They are so out of touch with nature that they need a strong reminder of just how ctuel mother nature can be.

This latest PETA campaign isn't anything new. They pulled this unhappy meal stunt before a few years back, but that time they filled the unhappy meals with chicken guts. If I remember right, they made nasty Burger King crowns to go with the unhappy meals and the had Buckets of Blood for kids at a Kentucky Fried Chicken. They are sick people.

What would make a great TV show would be Survivor, hunters against PETA. Paul McCartney, Pamela Anderson, the PETA President and any other peta celebs against Uncle Ted and his wife, Cindy, (from Get Wild with Cindy) Lee and Tiffany, Jim Shocky ect. Put them somewhere with the most dangerous animals on earth. I'd give each team the choice of a weapon for protection and let them play for the rest. I get this vision of Pam Anderson fighting off crokadiles with a can of pepper spray. I'd tune in for that. lol
