I read a similar story of a young bow hunter bummed out after spending so much time trying to find that big buck in the woods and never made it happen until one day after he was walking back from the woods after a day of hunting and found a huge buck trying to fight a concrete deer statue in the yard , the buck eventually knocked himself out and the hunter walked up to it and finished it off with a point balnk shot with an arrow. There is a pic of it floating around somewhere on the net, its hell of a deer too.
I need a decoy like that..., brings in the deer and makes for easy tracking. On a serious note, glad the deer didn't just injure himself, or died where he would not get found, plus no one got hurt.
crazy, sure havent seen or heard of anything like this before.. but like rubycreekhunter said, i guess it just shows ya that decoys do work.. heack they dont even have to be a deer decoy to work lol
"If I pull the hammer and shoot this young buck, he's dead. But if I pass on him, the next hunter might not shoot so straight."
Too bad for the buck??? Who's gonna pay for that statue? [:D]
Reminds me of a dog I had many years ago. One of my neighbors had a lawn ornament which was a little donkey pulling a cart. It was about 18" tall. For two years that silly dog barked & snarled at that little statue every time he passed that house.
Even after he stopped growling at it, he'd stop to look it over as to say 'I'm watching you fella!'
