492" Sudden Impact Dead?

Postby Goose » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:11 am

Don't know how true any of it is but word on the street says that the mega buck that we all have seen clips of "Sudden Impact" died a couple of days ago. I read on Mike Hanbacks Big Deer site that it supposedly scored 492 inches had weighed 30 some pounds.
They had to cut off the rack because it was too heavy and thats the last word from the Flees farm.
Again, this may all be wrong. Has anybody else heard anything like this?

Well I googled it, and I couldnt find anything on him dying. But if I had to take a guess Im sure he died of a headach, with that massive head gear he was walking around with.

I too read it on Mike Hanback's website.  I believe he said he ran into a fence and damaged the rack and they were worried it would get infected so they put him down.

I found pictures of him on farmingforwildlife.com & the latest picture was from Aug. 28. They had to dart him to remove his antlers, but it didn't say that he died. He is/was certainly a freak of nature.

They have pictures of him from many different dates showing his antler development.

Other than mikehanback.com I haven't seen anything else on it.

DISGUSTING... what some will do to nature to satisfy their own greed and lust. May he rest in peace now.

I also find it disgusting to pump deer up and make them look like this.  It is absolutely absurd.  There is no need for this accept for high priced outfitters to appeal to fat wallets.  I feel bad for that deer.  There has to come a point where we say enough is enough.  That would be like me walking around with elephantitis of the... you know...  There really is such a thing as too big.
