Exclusive! Does This Buck Trump the "Field & Stream Buck?"

Postby Corey Graff » Thu Nov 13, 2008 7:15 am

Do you think this whitetail will outscore Bob Decker's Wisconsin monster?

Recently, the "Field & Stream" buck caused quite a stir among deer hunters who wondered if it could challenge the current world record. But Deer & Deer Hunting has the exclusive story on a new whitetail taken that could be bigger.

Tschumper Buck Snapshot:

* Mainframe 12-pointer
* Beams of 23-6/8 and 24-6/8
* More than 6-inch bases
* Incredible 42 inches of mass
* Each G2 is more than 12 inches long
* The rack will have few deductions

I have no idea if would outscore the Decker monster, but it wouldn't matter to me if I shot that deer.  HOLY COW!!!

What a great buck, the rack is really awesome.  I am not sure what the Bob Decker buck gross scored at, but I ballparked this one at right at 200" before deductions.  I do think this one will net higher because of the common base issues on both sides of the Decker buck.

With all that being said, I'd "settle" for either.  In a heartbeat!

Good shooting.

Glad to talk to all of you, but I'd rather be sitting in a tree stand on a cool morning trying not to move so that the bruiser buck directly below me doesn't figure out that I am watching him!

Wow, what a buck!  He's gotta be on cloud nine...good for him!  Agreed, based on the write-ups I think this one trumps Decker's due to less deductions and better overall symetry.

First off they are both great bucks.. this buck will net more just because there looks to be very little deductions but the Decker buck is going to get slammed with deductions... They both will gross over 200 inches before deductions which is all that should really matter. I hate the deduction of inches from racks I dont think there should be deductions I think the rack should be scored as is and thats it, if mother nature wanted the racks to be the same on both sides she would have made them that way from the get go..

Ive gotta say the Tschumper buck is gonna net better. looks to be more massive and less for deductions. The f&S buck has common bases on the 4's which will deduct quite a bit IMO. I'm gonna guess that the Tschumper buck will out score the f&s buck by a good margin as a typical.
Both are world class animals and deserve the recognition they will receive. With the bow to top it off on both of them, it doesn't get any better!
