IL, hunter bags 24- point doe

Just wondering if anyone else has heard of the 24- point doe the deer hunter in pike county harvested? I've only heard of two other antlered doe's in my life, and they were both small spikes.  So how would you tag it, as a doe..or as a buck? I guess anything with more than 3 " inches of hard antler is to be considered a buck in our state.

I can say I've never heard of a doe with antlers until today!

doesn't the check system ask if it is a doe with antlers?  I may be dreaming but i thought i heard that this year and thought to myself, "how could a doe have antlers?"  Weird!

  One of our neighbors actually harvested a  13 point doe a few years ago in Tioga County. Certified by NYS DEC.

A friend of mine(here in Michigan) killed a doe with five or six inch spikes, three or four years ago. She was a pretty good size deer, I'd guess a three and a half year old!

Kevin Ross shot a 9-point, 170 pound doe, my source must have been mis-informed about the number of points. Nice link to the story, thanks Kribbz.

I've definitely heard of antlered does.  Not sure of the statistics, but obviously very rare.
 
Would be cool to see / shoot an antlered doe albino!  Now that would be something.

Hm, I heard that the buck was shot in Kansas, and actually read an article from a local paper there about it.  I was trying to find the link but came up empty.  Maybe they're separate?!

There must have been two antlered doe's harvested, because my friend swears he saw a 24-point " doe " on the evening tv news a few weeks ago. He said the 24 was being considered for the world record antlered doe kill. I didn't even know the books accepted antlered "doe's"? From his discription the doe had a medusa type rack, with odd amounts of points on each side of the rack, giving the rack a non-typical appearance. The 9- point doe in the link is clearly typical.
