Post your 2008 Harvest Pics!

Postby Patriot » Thu Sep 18, 2008 9:37 am

Hey everyone,
Here's a pic of my opening day MN buck this year (9/13/08).  Shot him at 4pm after less than 5 minutes on stand!  That has NEVER happened before.  I literally got to my tree, climbed up, hung up my bow and backpack....was reaching in for my safety belt...and there he was 17 yards away!  Absolutely crazy...

I know my shot looks high, but from the angle I had it took out the top of the near lung and exited thru the middle of the off lung.  He only ran about 75 yards.

Gotta love my new "Patriot" missles!

Im not sure i could fill my tag so early in the season, I would become depressed and need happy pills if i didnt get to hunt for at least 2 months!!

Great looking deer! Congrats

Nice buck! Was it a tough decision to shoot so fast?

Patriot,
Great job, glad to see some early success.  Good luck throughout your season.  Ours starts next weekend here in Ohio.  Hope to have some deer pics to post, soon.  Until then here's a picture from my daughter first squirrel hunt, this morning.

cbhunter,
I considered it for about 2 seconds (as I was reaching for my bow).  This is my 20th deer season, but only 9th with a bow.  It's been a LONG time since I had a buck of this caliber within 20 yards.

I have a big 4.5 on my agenda for November.

Hey Patriot....That is really cool.  Very nice deer. I'm jealous.  Opening day for me here in Ontario is
October 1st.  After seeing your picture...you got me dreaming.  Now I have to go and watch a PrimeTime Dvd.
Thanks for sharing.
This is not 2008 harvest.....but my biggest one.  It was pure luck....I was making a push...and he jumped into a swamp and got on an island 150 yrds from shore.  As I got to the shore line, I saw him step out. First shot I missed.....He didnt' know where the shot came from, so he stood still.  Second shot landed in his neck.  He turned and ran my way.  When he got to about 40 yrds, I dropped him.
Lucky sure.....happy,  Oh yeah.  We never got him weighed.   I'm 210 pounds.  (on my good days. lol).
This is my first time sending a pic....hopefully it works. (sorry if it doesn't )
