What are these "growths"?

I seem to have a deer with at least three large growths on her. Can anyone tell me what these are and if it is anything I should be concerned over for the other deer.
I don't know if these just started growing from her or if she is a deer I have not seen before but all previous pictures over the last year had not shown any signs of this. Here are some pictures, these growths seem kind of large, I just don't know what to make of it?  Thanks

They seem like wart growths on the deer and I wouldn't think they would harm the deer.

I shot a nice doe about 10 years ago with the same growth on her neck.
When I brought it to the DNR, they said it was normal, many deer has them.
They did not know the exact cause. But still safe to eat.

Hm, good question.  Not quite sure.  I think I've read something about this before, that they just fall off and go away...Nothing to worry about hopefully!

Hi everyone,
Those growths can be categorized either as fibromas or papilomas. Both are warty type growths (nonfatal) that are caused by a viral infection. Doesn't affect the meat. They usually run their course and fall off. I have seen some of these over the years that have literally covered a deer's face, neck and body. Gruesome to look at, no doubt, but of no harm to the deer unless a secondary infection strikes.

Last year I harvested a doe early archery season. When I recovered her and rolled her over she had these same growths (3 of them) on her side. When I took her to a butcher for a friend I asked him seeing that he has seen thousands and thousands of deer. (the butcher is in his 60's) He told me it was nothing to worry about and somewhat normal. His analogy was comparing them to cist or moles that we as humans get. Benign in nature. Nothing to worry about.
