Goose you got me interested in seeing if these were indeed the felt type of plaques and yes they were. I found the felt from the 2nd one in the basement where we keep our hunting stuff in the off season so yeah those are the kind i have. The first one must of come off and got thrown away somehow and i just decided to keep the scalp on the 2nd one lol. They come with a tan felt and red felt, at least that one did. Nice bucks msbadger, nothing wrong with scouting camera pictures and thats a great year you had patriot, congrats!! And cool idea about the garage with you and your dad's racks and everything. You'll always have those memories and there's nothing sweeter than that!

I just finally did a couple plaques with velvet to see how they would turn out.  I think they came out pretty good, so I'm going to plan on doing all my racks and display them that way.  The hardest part is getting the skull plate fully cleaned.  Other than that the felt doesn't fit perfectly but that's ok with me since it is an inexpensive universal type of mount.

My taxidermist wants $250 to do my 2 plaques.  Kind of a lot, but it's been 5 years since I've given him any business.

Very nice, I've taken some nice looking rope and wrapped it around the bases under the burrs and glued it on. Covers up that opening and looks pretty killer. Just a thought.....

Its easy enough to do if you got a jig saw, car putty, and some felt.
I could be wrong but that seems high. Are they plaques like CoG's?

Yep.  Just plaques.  I'm about as handy as a one armed wall paper hanger (no offense to anyone with one arm).  Will show pics when the plaques are done.
