My first post on D&DH and my first real buck!!

Postby GUNSMITHINBULLDOG » Wed Dec 15, 2010 2:31 pm

hi everybody. This is my first post so I thought I would share the biggest buck I have killed to date. He isnt much but I was excited to get him. He isnt the prettiest and doesnt have the most points but i will remember him forever.

Hes a weird looking six point I killed in the swamp behind my house. He looks old as hell and has an inside spread of 22 inches. Thanks for looking

Thanks a lot Dewey. I think I figured it out. please excuse the filthy blacksmith shop. My buddy's lovingly refer to it as my hillbilly meth shack. Thats just where I have my gambrel set up so thats where I take my pics before I string em up.

Welcome to the forum.  What a great animal!  Congrats!

As a sidenote...please don't verbally put down any deer you kill.  Each deer is a trophy.  Folks on the forum here don't need to be impressed with Booners in each pic.

yeah i think you are right, Patriot. I guess I was just trying to convey that I realize this deer is no sekatchewan deer but he is a trophy to me. I oogled over him for about an hour before I started the skinning porcess.

Hey gunsmithinbulldog also make sure to check out the state forums that interest you. You do not have to worry about anyone on here saying "meh, that deer is too small" we all enjoy hearing the stories of other hunters and are happy to view their sucesses.

Congrats again and look forward to hearing more from you.

Very cool buck!  what part of the country do you hail from? I live and hunt in IL, so i'm mostly in small patches of timber and corn/bean fields.  i always wanted to hunt swampland though...
