Need help aging this buck!

Postby mnmaverick » Mon Aug 01, 2011 8:48 am

I checked my cameras yesterday and had pics of this wide 8 pointer. Can anyone offer some aging help on this one? Looks like a 2 year old to me, but I'm not sure. The two daytime pics are clearly the same deer, but I'm not sure about the other pic.

This is in Southeastern Minnesota, so we have a lot of antler potential, and if this is a 2 yr old I'll definitely be passing on him and hoping he explodes next year (if he makes it)!

Thanks for your help!

Thanks guys. I could see 3 1/2, considering it was a rough winter and the deer started the summer looking pretty skinny. Either way, I want to see him get to be 4 1/2, although we only have 80 acres so chances are good the neighbors might get him.
