Bowhunts Reduce Car/Deer Collisions

In 2004, before the city of Cedar Rapids began the bowhunt, there were 453 deer-vehicle crashes.

In 2008, the Police Department, Iowa Department of Transportation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources together tallied 250 deer-vehicle crashes, said Sloterdyk, DNR conservation officer in Linn County.
