Cedar Rapids and Waverly?

Greetings from a Michigander,
My oldest son has tested for the Cedar Rapids PD and will test for the Waverly PD in March.  If he's successful his old man will be visiting from time to time (during the fall mostly);)
Can anyone share with me what the area holds as far as access, deer numbers, buck quality, etc.?
I have a lead on a 270 acre farm in SE Iowa and I'm also checking out the NW corner but, until now, hadn't considered the CR area.

It is not my area, but from driving around in that region I'd say you can't go wrong. The only issue I can see is that something like 2/3 of Iowa's population lives in the eastern 1/3 of the state. You may have a little more competition for land access than you would in the SW.

Thanks for the quick reply JPH.  Now I have another dilema...I hadn't considered the SW corner.
FWIW, you have Noooo idea how use to competition Michigan hunters are.
I'll be puting in for a preference point this year and I'll plan on coming in 2010.
