have ya ever made a rug?

I really wanted to get a shoulder mount done on this buck i shot last night but I wanted to get the meat in the freezer more. So now i have the head with the cape attached in the freezer. I`ll just get a European mount done on the head, but thought i may try making a rug or throw from the hide. any experienced people out their wanna give a newbie some pointers. how long did the first one take?
