archery buddies ...

well i am getting criticized by my buddies over at the range for this years hunt ... and it is all about me having a crossbow and a compound bow ..
they tell me that crossbow hunting is not real hunting ... .. i beg to differ .. i still have to be under 40 yards ... ...

keep in mind they are giving me crap over the crossbow because they say it is too "rifle like" ... i paid for it and it will not sit in the closet

so far this year i have 3 doe in the freezer and a turkey ... and looking for number 4 .. and my game plan so far this year has been alternating hunts between the crossbow and the compound .. and it is working out well so far ...

also keep in mind i work 6-7 days a week,,, and my buddies are currently unemployed and have every day to get out in the woods to date i have 3

the other change is i am off the ground .. i found a man and a half stand for a good price
i think i am doing well this year esp since christmas marks 1 year of compound archery for me .. and my 2nd year of crossbow ...

i do not want to stand there and boast about getting three and tell them they do not have any or as many ...
guess i will just take the criticism ....

I just think your buds are just jealous. I know what it's like to hunt on some weekends. You must be a good friend, because I would mention the score all the time! Because I know they would do it to me!

Not a "real" bow, huh? And wait.....I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that they are COMPOUND shooters! That's a real hoot! A state of the art compound shooter telling a crossbow shooter that they're not shooting a real bow......and they're serious!

You can't make this stuff up!

you got the right woods ... they shoot new bear ... pse .. and mathews bows ...

i like my compound but i invested in the crossbow so it is not gonna sit around and collect dust

It shoots a pointy stick that's propelled by the energy stored in the drawn limbs. There's no explosion involved, and at no point is there a "BOOM". That's a BOW, period.

And most importantly, YOU'RE HUNTING!!!
