Killed #8 for the season.

Postby rthomas4 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 10:59 am

I killed this 145 lb doe yesterday afternoon with my T/C Encore .308 and Winchester SuperX 150 grain power points. The shot was a double lung hit that also completely severed the aorta from the heart; and on impact it knocked her off of her feet and rolled her body while in the air......she was dead before she hit the ground at about 40 yards directly in front of my stand. I'd watched her coming up a fire line behind some planted pines, so already had the gun up on the rest with the hammer cocked and was looking through the Aetec waiting on her to walk onto the food plot and up to the corn pile.
