Anyone finding sheds yet?

Found a nice large pair of sheds today. They were about 6 feet apart. They had been down a while. They had some mud splattered on them and being that we have been having super cold weather, I figure they had to have been down at least a week. The buck is an early dropper. Found his last year around the 20 of Dec.

I would need my snowshoes to get to them. Then a snow plow to find them. We have knee-deep powder snow right now, so anything that drops into the snow is gone til spring.

Doug, give me a few days and I'll put together a pic of antlers side-by-side and you will see the resemblance.

Didn't mean to make you a lot of work charlie. Was just wondering if you knew something I didn't. Before I retired I used to work the deer check stations once in a while during hunting season aging deer. I remember checking several deer that looked similar, but be different ages and come from different areas. :)

They're still rutting down here. I found several new scrapes last week, and caught a glimpse of a buck that was checking his scrapes.
NRA LM, NAHC LM, Buckmasters LM, The Second Amendment Foundation, GOA, NAGR, Palmetto Gun Rights, , ASAdisabled sportsmens' alliance, EDH, and Proud SC redneck REBEL still flying the Stars and Bars!

My area is getting close, I/we should see some good activity in about 3 weeks or so. Seems actual breeding takes place around late February +/- where I hunt

My buddy got a nice buck about 2 weeks ago north or Ocala. He had it on his camera coming in at 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm ....hitting a scrape hard.
After his third sit, he got him. Its a FL registry buck, all scarred up from fighting, real nice animal.

Trail cameras say it is a little early in West Central Indiana. We need another month before they start to fall; however, the early winter may prove me wrong.
