Not Letting Go...

Postby allthingswhitetail » Sun Mar 16, 2014 8:27 pm

As with the long winter, my bucks just can't seem to let go. Check out the today's blog and the photos of different bucks on the property.

Please let me know if you are seeing the same thing on your property.

Thanks,

Andy

That would be a no here in NY on our western NY property. The last mature buck holding on was in early February. Immature buck was late February. Now we have swelling and some growth started...I just discussed this in another forum, one suggested I was seeing last years button bucks. I explained with the number of cams I am running and taking random card pulls every few days I am averaging 50-400+ pics every 3-4 days on the cams. This gives me a good idea of what the deer have looked like all winter. Some have distinct coat growth(cowlicks)and scares to distinguish them. Most are young buck with distinct raised new growth and then there are the older buck with noticeable swelling bases. This had another poster mentioning that they are seeing the same in bucks they have watched all winter. As early as some of these buck dropped their racks I am a little surprised that I am not seeing even more growth. I had several half racks back in early January
