I found this in one of my hunting picture albums, I must've copied it down out of one of the deer books I was reading at the time. Just thought I'd share it with you. Don't know where its from but I didn't come up with it.
"Hunting is more than big antlers or shallow words. Its amber sun rises and the smell of leaves in our October forests. Its fluffy snowflakes landing on a cold gun barrel, and the smell of wet wool at the end of a days hunt. Its the rapid heartbeat as a white-tailed buck gracefully moves through the woods, and the fummmp sound of an arrows release.
It's the butchering and cooking process of getting the deer from the woods to the table.
In short hunting is being there.
Its experiencing all that nature offers."
This pretty much sums it up for me!
