He did it!

Postby burnnurse1 » Fri Oct 31, 2008 6:03 pm

As I've mentioned in several posts before, one of my biggest goals this year was to get my 7 yo son his first deer. You all have helped me decide which gun to buy, Kept up with how he's shooting, and even offered condolences after his first miss. Well I am pleased to announce...... Mission accomplished[:D]. Little man killed a button buck at 0730 10/25 the opening day of La. firearms season. Then turned around that evening, and killed a nice mature doe. Both shot placements were excellent! he was calm, cool and performed extremely well. Dad was probably more rattled than him!! There is one excited little boy (and daddy) running around north La. right now. Hope to post pics soon. Thanks for all your advice and words of encouragment.

Congrads!!! I remember my first deer (a large doe.) I was with my dad and he was so excited. Im sure you feel the same way. Im sure he's hooked and will remember that for the rest of his life . :)

Thanks a lot guys! That boy is eat up with some hunting now. He's wanting me to check him out of school every day, heck, not even take him to school for that matter, so he can go hunt. Sounds like his future wife will be a hunting season widow to.......... My daughter has his pics saved to her computer so just as soon as I figure out how to post them I'll get 'em up.
