Bad hits happen for many different reasons.Try to learn from it and get over it .As long as you did eveything possible to recover the deer and you continue to practice to improve your shooting skills you have done nothing different than most hunters..Some areas have volunteers that have dogs that track wounded deer and all they ask for are donations to help feed their dogs.
