Rich Fasi of Traverse City says he found a dead 2-foot shark in the water while fishing on West Grand Traverse Bay on Wednesday. According to Mark Tonello, fisheries biologist from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the juvenile blacktip shark may have been in transport on ice from the Atlantic Coast. Also a possibility is that the shark was a pet being dumped.

I think its a gag or accident like it was implied.
 
We catch them regularly and no doubt it is a very tropical species(great eating I might add) , tolerant to some brackish water, but not that fresh.
 
Now the bull shark....he's been found in Illinois!!!
 
But I think your MI lakes are just wayyyyyyy ttttttooooooo   ccccccccoooooollllld for even a bull shark (and humans) [&:]

im sure thats what it was. weve had a few gators turn up around here and two pirahna have actually been caught by fishreman.
