Bucks In Velvet

lonlon--Disappointedly I havent found any sheds from him, in fact they have been few in number around here, I have found a couple of gut shot deer on our neighbors land from last season (we have permission to coon hunt around our area) which to say the least they were very young and agianst regulations!!

i went out to get my camera yesterday and had 3 pics of a buck in velvet from may 9th. pretty sweet to see

Went out this past weekend and checked the camera and as lonlon said before Wiscosin had a harsh winter and got a couple pics of bucks with about 2-3 inches of horns growing.  Hope to put camera out in June and see how they look.

While walking to work last Thursday AM(5/15/08) I had 4 deer cross the road not more than 25 yards in front of me, all had horns and were very easy to see. From their body size I would say they were all 2 plus older deer, one is really going to be a peach! Also this AM I saw a very small yearly buck with barely visible buttons, couldn't have weighed 75 pounds. I also finally identified a doe fawn from last year that is carrying a fawn, I was beginning to think all the bred doe fawns had aborted in our harsh winter, record snow depths here, the big does look like hefers and are starting to get anxious, time is near here in Central Wis!

While turkey hunting in late late May my brother had a couple of bucks that had antlers that had already started to fork. But yesterday here in MN I saw a road killed buck that had only 4 inch spikes going. I saw my first fawn on May 24 while turkey hunting in Wisconsin. It was still pretty shakey on its legs so it probably for a few hours prior to us seeing it.
