Living that close I don't see why you don't unless the Indiana county that is closest to you is on Eastern Time and that would be a headache for you when it comes to your job.

As far as Mitch Daniels not running for President. He has to many skeletons and baggage in his closet. If he wasn't married, he probably would have ran.

I sure hope so... I haven't had much time to look into it recently. These types of things should hopefully show everybody downstate just how important it is to be an educated voter in this day and age!

I received this from my Representative...

"On February 29, two bills passed out of the House Executive Committee and could, any day, be called for a vote on the floor. HB 5167 places a 2% surcharge on all firearm ammunition and HB 5831 would require all handguns be registered and charge a registration fee on each handgun."
Since then it appears they are going thru amendments in committee.

Status of any bill can be checked here...

Thanks for the link @ Bighorse...Im afraid if the handgun registration bill passes that moving from this state is the only recourse..Im not just talking either im disgusted to the core with This state and their apparent wanting to abolish guns in general and punish the law abiding citizens...Not to mention Illinois is the ONLY state without some sort of CC..and than the whole FOID...card thing...our forefathers didnt want this type of behavior when the Constitution was written..seems like lobbyists and hidden agendas and anti-gun enthusiasts rule this state....i want no part of it..and their disregard for my rights and everyone elses in Illinois...

Business's are already leaving my home state in DROVES because of tax rates...now a registration ''fee'' for owning a handgun??? Next we'll be lining up for bread and speaking Russian??? sorry for the rant ..im completely at loss for the right words that describe how disgusted i am that these type of bills are even given a second thought...im done... :!:

If we could just get about 4 counties in the north east corner to become their own State the other 98 counties would do just fine. ( Sorry WW :D )

Hey Jon,

What's really scary to think about is what's gonna happen if Obama (who is a direct product of our wonderful Chicago politics) gets elected again. There'll be no reason for him to be discreet about wanting to get rid of guns entirely, since he won't have to run for re-election again.

I'm with ya Big Horse!

S'okay! I'm in western Kane County. We're not considered a collar county. I have Chris Lauzen as my State Senator, and Christine Hatcher as my Rep, and they're both solidly pro-2A

There's been some buzz about such a thing. A guy running for State Rep in our district (Josh Harms) actually addresses the topic on his website.

While I don't think it would go anywhere I wouldn't be too surprised to see legislation introduced in the near future to exclude Chicago/land from the State. Half the laws they pass in Springfield have exceptions for Chicago anyways, why not let them just take care of them selves?
