WY couple busted - poaching

Postby bobow » Fri Oct 21, 2011 5:36 pm

Sad story it seems. The couple was showing the youngins how to hunt & bagged a nice mule deer.

According to the story, they posed for pictures, took the rack and DUMPED the carcass along a road. It is sad to let it go to waste like that and to be taken out of season but at least they got nailed & it cost them $10K.

That's disgusting. I lived in Wyoming 35 years ago, and while I'd be a bald faced liar to say that poaching didn't go on then, stuff like this was virtually unheard of. Yes, poaching (of any sort) is a crime against the state and is WRONG, but wanton waste is not only a crime against the state, but is also immoral IMO.

He was teaching the kids to hunt?? I hope the DNR had words for those kids to straighten them out. Nice friend of the family HE was.

The complete waste of the animal bothers me more than the poaching. I could understand it if they were hungry. :(
The only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker is observation. All the same data is present for both. The rest is understanding what you are seeing.

what a bunch of punks!!
