Just a question about a problem I have with my gun...

I pulled my gun out a few weeks ago to shoot sight in some, and I encountered a major problem, sometimes it will fire when I pull the trigger, and other times it won't... I really don't understand whats going on. I'm not real good with the anatomy of guns or what makes what do this or that (if that makes sense) [;)] I just know it won't fire half the time I pull the trigger, and that really sucks. The trigger works right and everything, the safety id not on when I'm shooting, I have bullets racked in and ready to shoot. Something just isn't right. Any ideas? Thanks!

I would suggest you take it to a reliable gun smith before some body gets hurt !

Make sure you are cocking the gun fully.  With an 870 you can discard the spent shell and load a new one without reseting the firing pin.  The slide must be cycled completely.  Hope this helps.
