Did you get one with your handgun?

Postby Robert Rowland » Mon Nov 24, 2008 4:00 pm

I designated my doe tag for handgun hunting last weekend, but the only two does that came into range were very small. I have taken deer with a handgun before but have been skunked with my Blackhawk.
Please post your pictures if you have had success this year.

I was able to kill this runt of a buck in the 2007 season using my Ruger .44 magnum.
I was hunting from the ground and sitting about 60 feet from the buck as he was walking through, I aimed and hit him in the neck and it hit the ground face first then ran off about 100 yards. It was an easy blood trail to him.

TC Contender in 44 Remington Magnum dropped this one in his tracks. Hunting from a chair blind about 45 yards away. I use a monopod shooting stick to help steady the gun. Scope is a 2-7 Simmons.

Nice pictures guys!  Wish I had one to post, maybe next season.
Shadow, that rig is just like one I used to have, except I had the 9.5" barrell. Sure with I still had it. Now I use a super blackhawk with open sights.

yea, its a great gun.
Its ported, you can see it in the picture along the side of the front sight, it has a Leupold 2 power scope on it and I'm shooting 240 grain soft points that I reload for it. I love it.

[font="Courier New"]Nice gun, nice buck.

Now I'm new here & don't want to start any fights, but you & I both know that 'TC' is really a small rifle.

I had to use the TC that year. My son took the 500 S&W magnum down to Ft Polk with him to shoot in pistol league. Maybe this year.
