ORIGINAL: Woods Walker

I mostly hunt with a Bear Super Kodiak recurve, #55. I use Easton Legacy shafts, and Razorcap broadheads.

I really admire you guys who make your own archery equipment I have neither the time, or the patience, although one day I do want to start making my own arrows.

Are you glad that you went with 55#, or would you go with 50 lbs. if you could do it again?? I shoot 60 lbs with my compound, but if/when I get into recurve I was thinking 50 might be better. More than enough to kill a deer with a well placed shot, and I think it would make practicing even more pleasurable.

What u think Woodsie? [:D]

Switched from a Hoyt Cybertec to a Mathews Rezeen 6.5, 65# w/30" draw, Easton Axis 300 arrows, 100 Grain NAP Bloodrunner 2 blade broadheads, Extreme Archery 4 pin Sight, and Tru-Fire release. I love the Mathews it is very fast and surprisingly forgiving for a speed bow. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This was my very first year to bowhunt, after not having deer hunted, for almost 13 years. I shoot a PSE Typhoon (purchased used this year) set at 60# and 30" draw length. Gold Tip Hunter arrows with 100 gr. 3 blade Rage. With this rig, I took the best deer of my life; a 128" 8 point at 22 yds, and the performance of the Rage was simply amazing!!
