buckhunter21 dry fire mishap

Postby Patriot » Wed Mar 18, 2009 9:20 am

I met buckhunter21 face to face today for the first time.  We met at "my" hometown archery shop in St. Paul.

I walk in and the guy is already there and causing trouble.[:)]  He accidentally dry fired a brand new PSE and the string busted!  [8|]  I told him just to buy the bow[;)].

He told me it was ok to post that little story.

It was great meeting a fellow "D&DH geek".  I would encourage you all to do the same with someone in your area.

I should add that he promptly offerered to pay for a new string.  Wish I would have been there just 5 minutes sooner to see it happen.[:D][:D]

LOL, yea I walk in and the guy asks if I need anything.  I just tell him I'm here to look around a bit and that I'm looking at getting a new bow.  Well, they have their '08 PSE X-Forces on sale for like $650 so I pulled a couple back.  Third one I pulled back..well, what can I say.  Whoops!  There was quite a bit of noise with people talking before that, but after that happ it was like, well, you know those cricket noises they play on tv.  LOL.  I apologized profusely and told the guy I'd pay for it so it set me back about $40 after tax.  I've accidently dry fired a few bows in my day and nothing ever happened...But then again I've never done it with a bow that shoots 350+ fps!  After that the owner gave me a release just in case I wanted to 'test' another one out!!!  [:D]

So anyways, yea it was good to meet Patriot.  Seem to have a lot of things in common.  We are planning another get-together with him, JPH, and Goose too as we speak so who knows...maybe we'll grow old together!  LOL  [8|]
