Mock Scrapes?

Never have attempted making mock scrapes, any information here would be very helpful pros and cons.
 
Drippers, scents, used in conjunction with a buck decoy???
 
Considering using a scrape dripper over a mock scrape where I am planning on using a buck decoy around the end of October/beginning November.  Should be strong into the pre-rut, maybe seeing a few does entering into estrous here in NE Ohio.
