arrow weight difference?

Postby vermont backstrap » Sat Sep 04, 2010 8:50 pm

Hey shooting experts! After reading many great articles and tips in the latest magazines and online archery issue, I have decided maybe I should weight my arrows and FOC etc...as suggested. All FOC are equal at 11% BUT I do have as much as 7 grains of difference in weight between some arrows (with heads)....is this alot? should I change anything, they all seem to shoot well.....thanks for you time.

7 grains may not change your shooting all that much but yes that is a wide gap in weight difference. 7 grains is about like adding or losing a 4 inch fletch with glue. I shoot middle of the road arrows and all of mine are within 2 grains.

Thank you, the G5 heads are within 1.5 grains, it is the carbon exress arrows that are actually 3 different types that are the difference.....as I lose or break the original ones, I then buy new. That is the reason for 3 different ones over the past 8 years! Should be good, notice perhaps a slight difference outside of 40 yards......thank you.

7 gr aint squat, youll never notice it in any way shape or form.

1 gram is equal to 0.03527 onces. So 7 grams is less then a half once. And at 295 feet per second you should notice a drop or raise in your arrow flight. At faster speeds should notice anything. I think?

That should be you "shouldn't" notice a drop or raise! And the same for faster speeds.
