I shot 1 doe and 2 spikes during Bow season. I also shot a spike , two 5points, 6 point and a 8 point during rifle season...which ends this Wednesday the 4th. Primitive weapons opens up a couple weeks and runs till the 1st of March....rut will be swinging pretty good.

No private land....Blackwater WMA. It has been a pretty good season. I'm going to try Escambia River WMA next year .

Damn Longcarbine that's a great season!
Obviously I'm hunting in the wrong place (Alabama). I only managed to get one doe this year. I wish I had applied for access to some Florida WMA's, it would extend my season. I didn't realize you had to apply for the WMA permits so early. Next year I'll just have to make sure I apply early and find the time to scout and find some good places in NW Florida to hunt. Alabama is done Jan. 31 but Florida is open until March 1. I bought a muzzleloader so I could take advantage of Florida's late season next year. I would this year if I could. I might try the Eglin Late Primitive Weapon season Feb. 14 - 22 but that would be more money spent with no guarantee I would get a deer. I guess we'll see.
