Sorry fella's haven't posted in awhile no time between work, running the kids around and hunting. Just read all the post great info being shared.

Been seeing alot great activity lately bucks really chasing hard, and a couple fights. Most of the activity has been in the mornings. I'm guessing because of the heat in the afternoons. I'll try to post more often. Keep the info coming and Good Luck.

geauga county deer activity is significantly lower than 2008 i suspect may june temps are the culprit or 10 stands in 5 different spots all went dead at the same time im seeing 12 deer in 30 days when i normally see 40 i passed on a 7pt with much regret

Hello everyone! I just joined yesterday. This looks like a great web sight to be part of. Well I hunt mainly in southern Clermont Co. and have not seen a real increase in buck movement during daylight hours. The most activity I witnesed was the last week of October. I think we had a few real cool mornings then. I think the temps may be adversly effecting the rut. I'm getting some good trail cam pics of descent bucks in the middle of the night but nothing during shooting light. I've harvested two does this season so far. I did find some trees about as big around as my leg that were tore up by some kind of monster buck. I've noticed these rubs for the last three years but have never seen this buck yet. I thought about seting my trail cam up on a scrape that is near by to at least get a picture. Any advice or tactics on setting myself up for a chance at this monster would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

My entire season has been slow, most sightings were small bucks.

Came from PA this year to hunt Southern Ohio from Nov. 7-14. Had a great week. 3 out of 6 guys dropped bucks all around 200 pounds.
11 point, 19 1/4 spread
9 point, 18 spread
8 point, 19 3/4 spread.

We are coming back for sure next year.

Report from Lake county (N.E. Ohio):

I put the trail cam back out to get an idea of what the deer were doing now that the ruts over and the weather is colder.
All photos of deer movement was well after dark (9 & 10 o'clock p.m.). I was dissappointed with the late night activity considering nobody got out during gun season on this property. A few friends have gotten a doe hear and there but nothing to rave about. Most of my friends have all had the same thing to say, plenty of deer after dark. That has been the same story all season long, even before anybody was in the woods to spook them. Thats it from my part of Ohio.
Good luck to everyone and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
