Question?

Postby Sailfish » Thu Feb 12, 2009 10:33 am

Anyone familiar with North Royalton?
I have to take a week long training session either there or Reynoldsburg.

I'm leaning towards NR

Second week of March

No hunting season then I don't think

If there were something going on I was going to stay over the weekend

I chose NR

Your going to be couple hours away from Toledo, the timings going to be about perfect for the walleye run in the Maumee.  I've never fished it but I've herd it can be awesome, with huge females, coming down stream to spawn out of lake erie.

I live on the Maumee river. You are right , the fishing can be great. The only problem is the crowds. Most days during the peak of the run it is shoulder to shoulder as far as you can see. There are people fishing from shore, then you have a line of people wading and then you have the boats out in the middle. I finally gave up. Cant stand the crowds. If you dont mind the crowds, you will catch fish. Be sure to release any fish you snag. If they catch you keeping fish you snagged, they will come down pretty hard on you. It is a pretty hefty fine per fish. I have heard that if you cant pay, they will hold on to your equipment [boat.motor, poles even your car] until you do pay. If you go, follow the rules and catch a bunch of fish.
