Ohio rifle hunting

I'm new on the forum so please forgive me if this has already been discussed. Has anyone heard anything about Ohio allowing some rifles for deer hunting like Indiana? The current regs regarding what firearms are allowed for deer don't make any sense at all and I think it's time for Ohio to update it's laws.

Muzzleloaders are the only rifles allowed in OH.

I'm aware of that. I should have been more clear.  Right now it's legal for me to use a scoped Thompson Center G2 Contender pistol in 45/70 with a 14 in barrel and a bipod for deer hunting but I can't use a .44 mag single shot rifle even though it's less powerful and has a shorter range, simply because it has a shoulder stock. That doesn't make any sense. I think Ohio should go to a system like Indiana did. They can use rifles chambered in pistol cartridges such as .357 mag, .44 mag, 500 S&W etc. You'd have the accuracy of a rifle, which equals less wounded deer, without being any more dangerous than the what we currently have.
