The 2010 archery season has been good so far in Centre County. It started off last Saturday with the most perfect morning you could imagine, weather wise . . . lows on Friday night dipped into the upper 30's and highs on Saturday only reached around 60. I wasn't able to hunt until Tuesday (which I did with my wife and two daughters (6 and 4), in a ground blind . . . we saw 2 does and 2 fawns), but one of my good hunting buddies arrowed a nice doe around 8 AM. She was with a group of five other does and a yearling buck. I drove to pick him and the doe up and he took care of her at his house while I tended to my obligations for the day. He decided to try a new hunting spot in the evening and it turned out pretty well for him. He shot this 130 class buck within the last few minutes of daylight. He returned home and we went out to track it together. The buck only ran about 40 yards from where he shot it. You can't fake that excitement! I was as happy for him as he was for himself. It's great to have friends and family to hunt with. Hunting in PA has never been better! God Bless!
