Another SC hunter here, representing Woodruff and Gray Court! Season is off to a great start! Passed on a big 8 yesterday, the plots are working! Hope you all have similar luck!

I'm glad someone is seeing deer my son killed his first deer about two weeks into the season an old grey doe 110 lbs. and about a week later i got another big doe 130 lbs. but since then i haven't seen anything but bears w/ cubs, coyotes, and bobcats. And amazingly I'm still seeing turkeys. anyway good luck

Another Sc hunter here. I live in Oconee County but do most of my hunting in Abbeville and Mccormick County. Had a Doe tag burning a hole in my pocket last thursday and when one walked out that morning I let the '06 roar. Then Friday evening when a 150 lb 8 point walked out 20 minutes before dark the '06 got another chance to sing its song. Now that theres meat in the freezer its time to look for a big one!

The rut should be starting the first week in November. I hunt in Berkely County. Being close to the coast is this true? How does temperature affect our deer. Generally the high's are going to be in the 70's with the lows in the 50's how does that affect our deer and their rut patterns?

Hey guys,  First post.  I hunt between Sumter and Florence.  Bagged an 8 point already and have seen my share of does.  When will rut heat up?  I have not noticed any bucks chasing does yet.  Is it still early?

Had a buddy call me Wednesday said he saw 3 bucks chasing a doe, and he killed the biggest buck which was a 8-point.  Things could be kicking off!  Can't killim on the couch...

That cold snap we got a week ago may have triggered the bucks to start moving. Daylight is diminishing, and the next full moon is about a week away. I expect the rut to be in full swing then.

Live in lower Lexington County hunt in Orangeburg County. I have had a great year so far. list of Kills
175lb 7 point 22 Aug.
180lb 8 point 27 Aug.
127lb doe 3 Sep.
130lb spike 12 Sep (My youngest son's first kill)
186lb 8 point, 146lb 6 point, 110lb doe, 102lb doe 17 October. I would say the freezer is full but my family eats it as fast as i can put it in. I have 5 kids 3 still at home. Hopefully the great year will continue so i can hook the outhr two kids on hunting.
