Big Buck killed in Hampton County.

Postby rthomas4 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 2:09 pm

The Hampton County Guardian had a picture this past Thursday of a 215 lb, 10 point full velvet buck that was killed in Furman. There are some really big corn fields, soybean fields, and peanut fields around that small town, so the deer get plenty of protein and fatty foods. Even so, that's a big SC deer for the lowcountry!

Seems like they are all coming in big this year so far. Most likely coming out of the swamps to drier land to feed due to all the rains in the earlier part of the year. Seen one yesterday that topped mine by 4 lbs. 223 11 point. Usually we only see 160-180 in this area but Im not complaining.
Overkill? Whats that? dead is dead.
