If things go to plan I hope to put a all day hunt in this Saturday to take advantage of the moon phase and rut. Has anybody seen evidence of bucks in rut in the upstate

Don't know about the upstate, but the breeding has been going on down here for almost a month. I interrupted a young 6 point as he was mounting a doe yesterday morning. I've also got a trail cam picture of a button buck breeding (or at least attempting to) a doe!

I'm convinced that as soon as the bucks shed their velvet they start rutting and don't stop until they shed their antlers down here in the lowcountry.

Our went full last week with the cold snap and seems to have backed off a little for the time being. The does arent in as much of a hurry right this moment. That could change though with it cooling down for the next few mornings.
Overkill? Whats that? dead is dead.
