We need a thaw as well, I did get a chance to put in three mineral sites where the snow melted. I will say this we still have a few feet in areas.

Now that the snow is leaving and the deer are hitting the fields again, I feel that I can get a non-scientic estimation to the winter kill. On the 5 mile loop that I frequently drive around my home, last year before deer season I was consistently seeing 30 deer, today I am seeing 16. taking into account the ~5 bucks killed and few doe during the season, that leaves me with a sence that we lost ~ 8 deer to winter kill, so over 20%!.... again not the most scientific analysis, but have done this every year for the past 10 and seems to be fairly consistent.........hope the whole state did not lose 20% to snow! OF course we will pick up at least another 6 in surviving fawns within the next 2 months, so the overall net loss will not be too bad. Any thoughts...
