Postby GracieJitsu » Tue Dec 08, 2009 4:16 am

This 8 point deer was shot at 7:33am on November 25, 2009 in Augusta County, VA. He was harvested at 35 yards with a Browning .30-06 using Remington Core-Lokt 180 grain bullets. The deer was 2.5 years old and had a live weight of 140 lbs. He produced 48 lbs of tasty venison.

Nice looking buck! I bet he didn't go far with that kind of fire power at 35 yards!

Well, to be honest, he was hit right above the lungs and ran about 100 yards before crashing. I couldn't believe it! You would have thought he would have dropped in his tracks.

Congratulations GracieJitsu and welcome to the forum.  I am always surprised at how far they run when the adrenaline is pumping through them.
