Opening Day

Gun season is upon us.

Been checking the weather forecast. In my neck of the woods (Washburn County) Saturday's forecast calls for high of 35, 100% rain, and winds out of the East/Northeast.

All kidding aside, that is the absolute worst of possible weather scenarios for my stand locations.

Just praying the temperature drops a few and that rain turns to snow.

I've been wearing out the weather.com site for Necedah (if that's possible). 45 degree high, with 50% chance of rain.

Last year opening weekend was a washout, Drizzle, fog, sprinkles all day Sat and Sun a torrential downpour followed by more rain. I ain't doin' that again this year. I bought a 54-inch clamp on umbrella for my ladder stand. As long as the wind ain't hurricane force, I should be dry (er) ...

Sun and Mon look good, low 30's for highs, partly sunny (no freakin' rain) ...

Whatever happened to snow? When I was growing up - in my teens learning to hunt in the 70's - it was rare when we DIDN'T have snow ... now, I cannot remember the last time I hunted in snow (last Thursday and Friday!!!!) ...

Please rain on another state this Saturday, please???

I see the forcast for Oneida County, where I will be hunting opening morning, calls for a high of 37, low of 24 and a 50% chance for rain

I was just looking at this too, well actually I've been looking for the past five days. Anyway, I'm also up in Oneida county and I'm trying to figure out how it calls for 41 and snow showers on Friday, but 35 and rain on Saturday. Doesn't make sense to me.

In weather like what is forecasted. Can only hope the neighbors kick up some deer and send them our way. I don't think anything is gonna be moving in that crap.

Chippewa county says 42 degrees and a fifty fifty chance of rain. FINGERS CROSSED FOR SNOW OVER RAIN. Could be a very sad season if the opening day is marred by rain. 2009 had fog that opening day, and it affected the whole season's numbers. Gonna keep watching that forecast like crazy.

Updated forecast now calls for snow in Hayward....up to 6 inches.

Shawano county forecast is 40 with SE winds at 10-15 with a 50% chance of rain. Not happy about the rain or the wind direction. Would love to see SW instead.
