Anyone find any sheds yet?

I know its still a little early but i was just wondering if anyone has been out and about shed hunting lately. I can't wait to get out and find some and hopefully have a good shed hunting year like i did last year!

I haven't been out yet. I hear some bucks are dropping them already. Some snow accumulation expected tomorrow night, so it looks like I will wait until the spring thaw.

Yea same here. The snow we just got here put a damper on my shed hunting season so i will probably have to wait till spring too. i'll post some pictures of the sheds i found last year tomorrow.

here are 2 that i found the first day out and i found 3 others that week. One was the same size as the two in the picture and the others were small little dinkers

I found a set(10pt) in late December, Central Wis, Waupaca County. Casting should start anytime.

I went out the other day for about an hour or so. I've never went out specifically looking for deer sheds before so, I was just kinda walking aimlessly in the woods hoping to stumble into one. Is that pretty much what everyone else does or is there a method to the madness? I kinda figured looking in thick brush would be best, but I wasnt really sure.

Yea they can be hard to come by. I have my best luck looking in and around bedding areas, feeding areas,and ,funnel. What i normally do when i go out is check out all my stands and then walk around them to check for sign from the previous year and thats how i find the majority of mine. They are tough to spot at first and i have walked past numerous sheds and found them later during gun season but once you find a few they become easier to see. I like going out and learning where the bucks and deer were last year and the sheds are just an extra bonus. I wish you luck in your future outings and just don;t give up, keep your eyes open, and walk slow!

I found mine all by accident. They can be hard to find if deer are not winter herding on the properties you search. Find a well used trail and walk it. Or, find a corn field or anywhere else they are flocking to feed. Your chances are good with that.
