WCC/DNR meeting

Postby unclebuck » Mon Apr 08, 2013 8:45 pm

Did anybody go to the annual spring fish and wildlife meeting in their respective counties? If so, what we're the big topics? I was at the Sauk County meeting. It was an interesting experience with a lot of great back and forth between people. Glad I went.

Was at the Kenosha County meeting. Not much said on the statewide questions, most discussion was on pheasant hunting at Bong Recreational Area.

I didnt go but I just read the results. Not too surprising. Crossbows once again rejected by hunters. The same rejection over and over.

I wouldn't say that... if you look at the numbers instead of just the simple yes/no it tells a different story.

Full inclusion as follows:
Votes 2277 yes 2479 no
Counties 43 approving 28 rejecting 1 tie

This means it failed to pass by 202 votes with a total of 4756 votes.
This comes out to 48% voting yes.

If you look at county level you would see that 62% of counties approved full inclusion.

I point these things out not because I am for crossbows, but I thought the full story should be told.

Very poor turn out at Waupaca,Wis, maybe because of NCAA bb game? Big items, state wide motor trolling and crossbows.
