I agree I can't wait either...Getting anxious already to get in and put some plots down!!!!!!  I know it's all a part of the experience, but I can honestly say that I almost like doing this as much the hunting itself!

I agree, this will be my first bow hunt and I can't wait.  I turned to bowhunting to prolong the season and TRULY hunt/understand the animal.  Last weekend I was out hiking and marking trees that would make good stands and came across two bald eagles feasting on a downed pheasant.  I also kicked up about 20 deer bedding in some set aside (farm land), if that doesn't get you hooked, nothing will.

Just don't get caught up in the antler craze! The first deer-fawn,doe,or buck that you can make a ethical shot on I recommend taking it and getting that first one under your belt.

You and I think alike, I'm committing my bow season to whatever I can get.  I happen to be in a "donation zone" and cwd zone so I plan on taking as many as I can.  I will butcher several for myself and then donate the rest to food pantry.  I just heard this morning on WPR that the count for donated meat was extremely low.  I was fortunate enough this past year with the extended season to donate several.  We also have good relations with the Amish in the area and often share deer meat in return for baked goods.

I really don't like to hear that you're going to shoot as many as you can, but I guess it's your preference. I also hunt in the CWD zone and the population is dwindling drastically so I only shoot as many as my family needs.

MDV WI hunter im assuming you have alot of deer around where you hunt.  Where do you hunt in the CWD zone?  Can I ask why you would shoot as many deer as you can.  In my opinion this is the reason why many hunters around the state saw fewer deer this year because of people over harvesting them.  People going out there shooting 8-10 or more deer should not be happening.  Its all because of the free antlerless tags and that is the reason why doe numbers are down.  Im not trying to tell you what you should do im just saying what my thoughts are.
