I brought this over from the old site...
Do you want to make a real good chili? Try this recipe, if you don't want to use venison in it, just substitute ground beef. Not liking the packaged chili mixes sold, they lacked alot, I added these extra ingredients to the Wick Fowler 2-alarm mix, adding here, taking away there, until I got what I think is one good bowl of chili.
Post your comments if you try it and let me know., This makes alot, so feed your family and friends.
Fry up 2 lbs venison or ground beef, don't drain juices or fat, put it all into a large crock pot along with:
1 chopped onion
8-12 ozs sliced jalapeno peppers, drained, cut in half if you wish.
1-28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
2 -28 oz cans of diced tomatoes
1-pkg of Wick Fowler's 2-Alarm chili mix, (It comes with many packets of various spices)
8-12 ozs of small hot cherry peppers, drain and cut to desired size.
1 can kidney beans
Add and simmer all ingredients on low for 3-4 hours. Depending on your taste, add anywhere from 8-12 ozs, of the sliced peppers,(you can find each type pepper in 12 oz.jars). Also, adjust the heat level by adding desired amount of cayenne pepper packet. Should chili become to thick, you can use any type of beer to moisten things up.
Serve with sour cream or anything you wish. Enjoy it and let me know if you like it or if theres anything you may add in addition to the ingredients listed.
