Update

I got To run a trip when I was home this last time! (3 wks ago) I had 50 people on the boat and we limited on snappers the first two stops of the morning. The average weight was 12lbs heviest going probably 20lbs. Here in Tx. we have been working inshore I'd say about 25 to 40 ft of water you take the lead off the line and just let the bait drift down slow you will pick some nice snappers,redfish,blackdrum, and a pissload of sharks at times lol. IM READY FOR HUNTING SEASON!!!!!!!!

I just got back from the lower keys fishing etc.

Almost perfect weather. Not as hot as I would have liked, and some days a 10kt wind was around, other than that it was great.

Managed to get some bugs, mangoes, YT, and my friend managed to land her first king (on a YT rig no less!!)

Looks like some good eating is coming your way Sailfish.. I haven't had a Fl. lobster in a long time, when I was running dive trips up here I used to be able to keep the freezer stocked with Shovel Nose Lobster some people call them Bulldozers. Looks like you had fun by the smiles on your face.

Finally after weeks of torrential rains winds and storms we get a break this week! Big high sitting on us, perfect offshore weather.........gonna plan on going offshore Saturday............what does NDBC say? 15kt 2-4's

Headed out for some ga g g rouper since season opened Friday.
Went to 8-10 numbers I had within 9-10 miles of shore.
Strictly g ag spots. All I have ever caught there was g ag.

We caught approx 75 rg!!!! and NOT ONE of the target species!!
Those spots have never seen rg before. They gobbled everything, sardines, squid, live pin's, runners and the best part???
Not one keeper (which is expected for rg that close to shore).
It was literally non-stop all morning. Fun, but I wanted some thicker filets!

But quite shocked about the g ag though.
Only things I can think of is the rg are more aggressive and run the g ag off or the g ag couldn't get to the bait in time since they had such big numbers or the fact that NOAA and the NMFS have played mother nature too much and thrown the balance off or a combination of all

Managed a few mango's up to 18" real fatties for dinner. I believe they are getting ready to spawn.

Slow.
Although I have had 2 driveby offers to buy it since I parked in the driveway

Stuff just keeps getting higher priority, tball, crown/base, fishing (plus it was too dang hot to don a suit and mask and start sanding.
