Antler tracks

I was wondering if anyone has ever found antler tine marks in breeding scrapes? For the last 5 or 6 years I have found antler tine marks in some scrapes. Have some on video, but don't know how to down load. I have found some in and around the area I hunt, with some being 2 to 3 miles away, believeing they are of the same buck. Just today, I found some freshly made in a mock scrape I made in the imediate area I hunt. Took some pics to pass along. The shinny object is a dime, to give some perspective to size. If you look close you can see the thin, butdeep marks. They are much too narrow for a hoof to make. I was also fortunate to get a pic of a buck with evidence of mud or dirt on his antlers.

Yes, there is a buck(assuming it is the same one) that does this each year on our families farm in PA, his scrapes pop up when the rut really kicks in, usually just random spots on the four wheeler trail, no licking branch or anything.

That is an awesome pic with the dirt on his tines, very cool.

I have found scrapes with tine scratches in them before. The land I used to hunt on, there was a scrape that was hit year after year, under the same old scrub oak, during the early rut, that always had that distinct antler drag mark on it when it became re-freshened. Never saw the buck that made it. The last time I seen it, he must have been a big ten. He thrashed the ground with only one antler that time, and left 4 deep gouges in the soil.

Yes i have seen the same thing. I'm glad you posted the pic i thought some one freshend a scrape with a stick where i hunt. First time i saw something like that.
