thanks guys... I did find out I'd hit him low on the side with the first shot. Luckily it didn't hit any intestine, but it did open up the stomach pretty good inside... He had outsmarted another hunter during first session by doing the same thing with laying down after jumping up and running away from his bed. This is definitely a hunt I won't soon forget, especially with him on my wall... He'll be the first shoulder mount I'll have done.

I harvested this buck on 11/19/11 in MO. Not a giant but he's my second career buck and I'm very happy. Good luck to all and be safe out there!

Here are a couple VA bucks so far his year. Had a productive early muzzleloader season, now hunting with guns. Congrats to everyone on their deer! Sounds like a bit of shootin' goin on.

I haven't been on for a while...you guys are downing some wild great bucks!! Congrats...and nice doe as well...Congrats!

I believe I may be done with my season ...Holidays and all...hhmmm we'll see... still have a buck tag due to whiffing on a huge 10 point...having second case of buck fever in 30+ years....legs where bouncing like I was thumper on crack and my arms may as well been connected to a paint can shaker :oops: ...lol

So the seasons summery is one 8pt and a doe in archery and two doe in gun season....hope you all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a safe and productive NEW YEAR

Nice deer Msbadger. Nothing like the rush of adrenalin in buck fever. Hope that I never stop feeling it, although I wouldn't mind if I would stop missing because of it.
