Congrats to everyone! A lot of nice deer being posted. I am hoping to put a few more in the freezer this weekend during our 3 day ML hunt. If not, we have a 3 day gun season at after Christmas.

Well what started as a good season for everyone else in the family except my father and I finished up strong.
Opening day my uncle tagged a 6 pointer with a 13 inch spread, second day my other uncle tagged a 8 pointer with a 16 3/4 inch spread(2.5 year old).Thanksgiving morning my cousin tagged 2 does(120 lbs.class) all the while my father and i hadn't see a single tail, pretty much the rest of the season went that way for us until the last week from dec.3rd-dec.10th,in the last week of the season i finally saw a deer and it was a 8 point with a 18 3/4 inch spread 4 year old buck that i shot saturday afternoon and recovered sunday morning,Sadly the coyotes got most of the rear hind 1/4's.This is my first "trophy" which may seam small to most. Then this past saturday i was hunting with my late grandfathers shotgun basically walking the deep reveans to push something my fathers way i whacked a adult doe.
The season ended for rifle this past sunday and my father went with out seeing even as much as a tail. Also 4 out of 6 deer were taken off NY public land in region 9.

This season as a family we dedicated to my late grandfather, and i know he was watching over all of his "boys"as he called us.
I shot my buck 15 yards from edge my grandfather always watched.

I killed this big boy in Western North Carolina on Nov. 12, 2011 while he was on his way to a mock-scrape.

This is an 8-pointer I shot on Nov. 13, 2011 in Fountain County Indiana. It had a 16 1/4 inch inside spread. The impressive fact was that this deer was aged at the check station by the University of Indiana and was only 2 1/2 years old.

That buck looks older than 2.5 in the face but could be the angle of the pic.

That is a stud of a 2 year old.

That was the first thing I thought when they told me the age of the deer. He does look older. When I question them, they evaluated and explained the ware of each tooth. I had guessed he was 3 1/2 prior to their evaluation.

He looks just like the 2.5 y/o Kansas buck I took this year, but mine only had a 15.5" spread. Congrats!
