Last deer hunt for me

Temps will be in the 40's Sunday so I'll give deer one more try before the cold, cold weather returns. I still have my buck tag burning a hole in my pocket.
Keep life simple...if you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.

We hunted from 2pm till 30 min after sunset. Lots of tracks in the snow, but no deer. Did see a bluebird. The activity seems to be nocturnal now.

Yea I have been noticing the same thing. I had to cut some firewood this last weekend and dropped a few trees..deer tracks all over the downed tops, they where feeding off the buds, but I didn't see one all day long.

Once the gun season is underway, they become a different animal all together. Shadows in the night.

I'd imagine they're all yarded up together too. Seems like during the late season, if you can get on 'em, you'll see a whole herd.
